Initial Male Panel Description

The below following is the description for initial male panel:

CBC

CBC stands for Complete Blood Count. It is a blood test that provides information about the number and types of blood cells in the body, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The CBC is a common and comprehensive test used to assess overall health, diagnose various medical conditions, and monitor the effects of treatments.

CMP

CMP stands for Comprehensive Metabolic Panel. It is a blood test that assesses various aspects of metabolic and organ function, including glucose levels, electrolytes, kidney function, and liver health. The CMP provides valuable information about overall health and helps diagnose or monitor conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease, and liver disorders.

Lipid Panel

A Lipid Panel is a blood test that assesses cholesterol levels, including total cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, and triglycerides. It helps evaluate cardiovascular health and assess the risk of heart disease.

THS

It stands for Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone. TSH is a blood test that measures the level of this hormone produced by the pituitary gland. It is a key indicator used to assess thyroid function, helping to diagnose or monitor conditions like hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.

T3, Free

The Fasting Insulin test measures the level of insulin in the blood after a period of fasting. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that helps regulate blood sugar (glucose) levels. This test is often used to assess insulin resistance, a condition where the body's cells become less responsive to insulin.

T4, Free

T4 Free is a blood test that measures the amount of free thyroxine (T4), an active thyroid hormone not bound to proteins. It provides insights into thyroid function and helps diagnose or monitor thyroid disorders.

Testosterone, Free & Total w/SHBG

The SHBG test measures the levels of total and free testosterone in the blood, considering sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG). Total testosterone includes both bound and unbound forms, while free testosterone represents the unbound, active hormone available for use by the body. This test helps assess testosterone levels and understand how much is readily available for physiological functions.

Estradiol

Estradiol is a sex hormone crucial for reproductive health. A blood test measuring estradiol levels assesses fertility, menstrual cycles, and hormonal balance in both men and women.

PSA,Total

PSA Total is a blood test measuring the total prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels. Elevated PSA levels may indicate various prostate conditions, including prostate cancer. The test is commonly used for prostate cancer screening and monitoring prostate health.

SHBG

SHBG stands for Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin. It's a protein that binds to sex hormones in the bloodstream, regulating their activity. Measuring SHBG levels through a blood test provides insights into hormonal balance and can be relevant in assessing conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or androgen-related disorders.

IGF-1

IGF-1 stands for Insulin-like Growth Factor 1. It is a protein produced in response to growth hormones and plays a key role in cell growth and development. Measuring IGF-1 levels in a blood test helps assess growth hormone activity and can be used to diagnose growth disorders or monitor growth hormone therapy.
